MARSEILLES FIRE BRIGADE INADEQUACY EXPOSED REORGANISATION PROPOSED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, October 30. The Marseilles correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that, the fire disaster having exposed the hopeless inadequacy of the city’s fire-fighting department, including the delayed arrival of engines, the absence of rescue nets, the shortness of ladders, and the bursting of rotten hoses, the Minister of the Interior. M Sarraut, has decided to organise the brigade on the Parisian model. A judicial inquiry is proceeding as a matter of urgency. The Press demands the resignation of the mayor and corporation. Fifteen bodies were found in an elevator at the Nouvelle Galeries, where the fire started.
