WRESTLING

HECTIC ENCOUNTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 31. The American professional wrestler, Pat O’Shocker, met Lofty Blomfield, New Zealand champion, in a heavyweight contest staged before a crowded house at the Town Hall. From the sound of the first gong until midway through the sixth round when, following a wild melee outside the ropes, the American was disqualified, O’Shocker pursued his opponent relentlessly with jolts and hair-pulling. He earned frequent cautions for punching and kicking with his knee. At the time of the disqualification each man had taken a fall.
