THE WONDER DOG

WILL BE AT WAIRARAPA SHOW. A tour of “amusement park” at the Carterton Showground will . not be complete if a visit is not paid to the tent that houses the world’s largest dog, Jumbo, the wonder St. Bernard — as big as his name implies. Muscular proportions do not rob Jumbo of beauty. Unquestionably he is a beautiful - animal, and a worthy descendant of Barry, one of the most famous dogs in history, who saved 40 lives in the Swiss Alps. As docile as a lamb, Jumbo, whereever shown, has displayed that benevolence for which animals of his breed are noted. He is a firm favourite with children, thousands of whom saw him whilst in Sydney, and he is sure to capture not only the imagination of juveniles at the Carterton Show, but of the general public. Jumbo will be on show on Tuesday an(k Wednesday.
