MASTERTON EAST SCHOOL

BAZAAR NEXT SATURDAY. 1 The first annual function of the Masterton East School will take the form of a bazaar, and will be officially opened by Mr Coddington at 2 p.m. on Saturday next (October 29). The East School opened on the morning of September 20 with 32 pupils, increasing to 49 in the afternoon. The roll number is now 83, and children have been refused admission owing to the school being full. Since the establishment of the school, an energetic School Association has been a great help with extra equipment for the school. The school being now equipped with a piano, crockery for social functions and forms for inside and outside use. The grounds have not been neglected. The street frontage is planted with a belt of lausoniana, and about 100 trees and shrubs of various species are planted in the grounds.
