The difficulty which, he said, several persons had experienced in getting horses to cross the white lines of the new pedestrian crossings in Waimate was mentioned by Councillor P. G. Berry at a meeting of the Borough Council. Recently, he said, a horse drawing a trap had shied, turned around, and finally mounted the pavement rather than go over the crossing. A similar incident had occurred in another part of the town and had almost resulted in a serious accident.
