MAPLE PRODUCTS

INDUSTRY IN CANADA. OTTAWA, Canada. Canadian maple products are known all over the world for their excellent standards of quality which are maintained under the rigid supervision of Canadian Government inspectors. Although the 1938 season was relatively short, conditions were favourable for the maple products industry and the crop was exceptionally heavy. The total production of maple sugar and syrup, classified as maple syrup, amounted to 3,300,700 gallons. This was double in volume the crop of 1937 and equal to that of 1929. the year of peak production. Maple products are used in many varied ways and the strict Government regulations assure the public of the purity of the products. They are also used for flavouring many foods. In recent years a new demand for maple products has come from the tobajco industry where they are used to flavour the manufactured product.
