Out for the first expedition of the season, a party of Auckland fishermen landed two barracuda. All of the party had wide experience of fishing in the gulf, and no one could remember catching barracuda inside Tiri. The fish showed only average fight, but were treated very warily when brought aboard, Tneir long teeth and the vicious snapping of their jaws, left little doubt about the fate awaiting the unwary fisherman.
