McGregor, presided at the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council, held at Carterton yesterday. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £5352 13s 2d. Receipts since last meeting amounted to £4082 10s 4d, and accounts amounting to £4472 13s 4d were passed. The tender of Mr O. Fairbrother was accepted for metalling portion of the Glenburn. Road. It was resolved to carry out improvements to the Longbush Road, by widening near the school. I ’A proposal to form the footpath from the Taratahi Hotel to the Clareville Post Office was approved. The council is to contribute £1 for £1 of the cost of the . work. At the request of the Wairarapa Automobile Association it was decided to grade the parking area at the Mount Holdsworth camp. The cost is to be borne by the association.
