.General situation: Pressure is still rather high over the north Tasman Sea and northern New Zealand, while a series of shallow westerly depressions is crossing the south Tasman Sea, and the South Island. Forecast: Strong north-west to westerly winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions; weather mainly fair to cloudy, but some scattered and mainly light rain in and west of the ranges; temperatures moderate.
