NEWS' OF FILMS AND STARS. Tyrone Power, on his recent holiday, was refused permission by the studio to fly to New York. He had to go by train. Radio have borrowed Henry Fonda to co-star with Barbara Stanwyck in “The Mad Miss Manton.” Walter Wanger agreed when he decided to postpone “Personal History” once more. Richard Arlen turned down Columbia’s race-track film, “Thoroughbred,” because he did not want to co-star with a horse. Priscilla Dawson, who plays the Spanish . beauty in “The Girl of the Golden West,” has a part in “Three Loves Has Nancy,” with Janet Gaynor, Robert Montgomery and Franchot Tone. Hollywood is talking about a romance between Janet Gaynor and Adrian, the Metro-Goldwyn dress designer. Dorothy Lamour is to be starred by Paramount in a re-make of “Mantrap,” one of Clara Bow’s biggest successes in 1926.- Fred Mac Murray will co-star. The next Thin Man picture is to be called “Another Thin Man.” ' The baby William Powell and Myrna Loy were preparing for in “After the Thin Man“ will be present. For the “Motion Picture Night” concert programme at the Hollywood Bowl, Ronald Colman made a record of the poem, “If I Were King,” to be blended with an orchestra. This was instead of a personal appearance.
