SPLENDID DISPLAY OF STOCK. CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, October 19. Glorious weather, cloudless skies, warm sun and no wind, favoured the opening of the 75th spring show of the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Association today. The beautiful showgrounds at Tomoana never looked better, and the attendance for the opening day was well above the average. There was every indication tonight that there would be a record crowd on People’s Day tomorrow. Although the season has been very unfavourable, entries showed only a very slight falling-off, and the stock made a splendid display. Championship awards were as follow: — HORSES.
