BENNETT’S HILL

SUGGESTION FOR CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL MAGNIFICENT VIEW OF VALLEY A centennial memorial proposition for Masterton was put forward at a meeting of the Masterton Beautifying Society last night by Mr F, C. Daniell, who stressed the many attractions of a hill-top drive and park on Bennett's Hill. He considered that if a road were made along the top of the hill, linking up the Weraite and Taueru roads, with access also to the summit of Bennett’s Hill, a magnificent panorama of the whole Wairarapa Valley would be provided. An area on the hilltop could be acquired and beautified.
