WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kai-tuna-Fernridge Women’s Institute was held in the Kaituna Hall on Friday last, Miss L. Shaw (president) presiding over a good attendance of members. The competitions resulted as follows: Seniors:—Pikelets, Mrs Stempa 1, Mrs Pike 2. Juniors: Afghans, N. Birch 1, L. Shaw 2. Flowers, Mrs Scharnweber 1 and 2. During the afternoon Miss Jansen, of Masterton, gave a very interesting talk on “China.” The hostesses were Mesdames Shaw, Laing and Miss L. Pain. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
