Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:-— Barograph, 30.21. Shade temperature: Maximum 68.6, minimum 42.5, terrestrial 31.6. Sunshine. 10 hours 8 minutes. Rain, trace. Genera] situation: A shallow depression is still located to the south-east but an anti-cyclone extends from the north Tasman Sea towards the South Island. There has been a rapid fall of pressure over Tasmania. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds with northerly to north-westerly gradually predominating. Weather: Fine and mild.
The wealthy woman was paying a visit to one of her tenants, and saw a pile of bottles poorly camouflaged in a corner. “Oh," she said, suspiciously, "are you giving a party to some friends, Mrs Moore?” The woman crimsoned under the direct gaze, then looked at the bottles. “No, ma’am,” she replied. “My husband works at the-brewery, and that’s his homework.”
