BUZALONG’S WIN

ONE OF THE EASIEST SEEN IN CUP. GREATNESS OF ROYAL CHIEF EMPHASISED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 17. The “Herald,” commenting on the Caulfield Cup, says: Buzalong recorded one of the easiest wins seen in the Cup for many years. It was reminiscent of that of Manfred, who was taken to the front at the half mile and gave the field a hopeless chase. There was no Royal Chief in Saturday’s field and Shean succeeded on Buzalong with the tactics adopted by McMenamin on the horse in the Metropolitan Handicap, but which failed qgainst the remarkable run of Royal Chief. The “Sunday Sun” says that Buzalong’s brilliant Caulfield Cup success emphasises the greatness of Royal Chief. Buzalong ran much the same race on Saturday as in the Metropolitan Handicap but whereas his Caulfield Cup rivals could not get near him Royal Chief raced past Buzalong at Randwick as though he were a second rater.
