RAID ON JEWELLER’S SHOP AT WANGANUI. TWO YOUNG MEN CHARGED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. A jeweller’s shop in the Avenue was broken into early this morning and rings and watches valued at about £9O were stolen. Two young men. arrested at Gonville. later appeared before Mr Salmon. S.M. Ronald Douglas McAlister, aged 19, was charged with breaking and entering and stealing jewellery valued at £5O 2s 6d and also an electric clock valued at £5. He was remanded until Wednesday. The other accused, whose name was suppressed in the meantime, was charged with the theft of jewellery and watches valued at £2O ss. He also was remanded.
