HIS “WEAK MOMENT”

CEMENT TAKEN FOR GARDEN. Stated to be a special constable, George Edward Phillips, aged 27. described as a tailor, of Sidcup, Kent, was fined £2 at Bromley for stealing 12s worth of cement from a building site, and -was ordered to pay for the cement. Detective Perkins declared that Phillips drove to the cement dump in his car, the number of which was taken. Phillips told the Bench that ho wanted a little cement for his garden, and in a weak moment succumbed to temptation. The chairman, Aiderman R. W. James, remarked that it was a despicable thing for a man in Phillip’s position to do.
