LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. PLAY AT NEW PLYMOUTH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, October 14. Playing conditions were more difficult at the New Plymouth golf links today when the first round of the ladies’ national championship was decided. There were no sensations, but a feature was that no fewer than five out of eight games were decided on the last green. The weather was overcast at first, and then light rain made the greens sticky. By midday, however, the sun was shining, and conditions were much improved. Results:— Mrs D. Wilson (Hutt) beat Mrs J. M. Wilson (Auckland), 2 and 1. Miss S. Collins (Wellington) beat Mrs H. E. Newton (Wanganui), 1 up. Mrs C. Williams (New Plymouth) beat Miss I. Seifert (Manawatu, 1 ,2 up. Mrs M. H. Shroff (Titirangi) beat Mrs F. M. Hanson (Hutt),'6 and 4. Miss O. Smith (Napier) beat Mrs R.
