The Australian Associated Press says reports filtering from official sources in Germany show that an impression has been created in the public mind that Mr Chamberlain’s talks with HenHitler were even deeper than was at first thought. It is stated that the value of the personal contact the British Prime Minister had with HenHitler and M. Daladier was inestimable. The British Consul’s offices in Berlin are besieged with callers signing the visitors’ books with expressions of gratitude. Hundreds of pounds have subscribed to a thanks-offering fund for distressed British subjects in Germany.
