CZECHS & GERMANY

AGREEMENT ANTICIPATED CONDITIONS OF POLITICAL CONTROL DISSOLUTION OF LEFT PARTIES AND PAPERS By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. LONDON, October 14. It is understood that when Herr Hitler meets Mr Chvalkovsky, Czech Foreign Minister, today, he will announce his approval of the no-plebiscite decision reached yesterday after a twohours’ conference between Herr von Ribbentrop, German Foreign Minister, and M Chvalkovsky, which the international commission later unanimously ratified. A public declaration of Herr Hitler’s willingness to guarantee the new Czech frontiers is also expected. Herr von Ribbentrop, it is stated, has assured Mr Chvalkovsky of Germany’s full support for re-establishing Czechoslovakia’s economic system, but it is reported that he insisted that an essential condition for any GermanCzech agreement must be a drastic revision of the Czech political regime, including the early dissolution of all Left political parties and newspapers, especially the Communists. German circles, says the ‘Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent, believe that Prague will soon cease to be a stronghold of democracy and that the Czech Government will assume an increasingly authoritarian character. The correspondent adds that it now seems certain that Germany will do her utmost to prevent any further partition of Czechslovakia which might enable Poland and Hungary to have a common frontier. ' ASSURANCE OF LOYALTY. HERR HITLER GRATIFIED. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, October 14. The British United Press Berlin correspondent says Herr Hitler, M. Chvalkovsky and Herr von Ribbentrop had a conference lasting ninety minutes. The official agency reports that M. Chvalkovsky assured Herr Hitler that Czechoslovakia would adopt a loyal attitude to Germany and Herr Hitler, expressing his satisfaction with this assurance, add that he regretted that the Hungarian dispute had not been solved, but hoped for an early settlement.
