POPULAR ENTERTAINMENT

On Tuesday evening next in the Opera House, Masterton, a recital of popular music will be given by an Orchestra and Venetian Band, conducted by Mr E. Larson. This year a high standard has been again set and the general public who have always been generous in their support, will not be disappointed in the choice of programme to be presented. Beside the orchestral and band items there will be solos, duets, duos, quartets and sextets for stringed instruments. There are 40 performers this year and such is the popularity of these instruments that the orchestra grows in strength each year. The now popular piano-accord-ion has been added and will be heard with an obligato of two violins and 'cello, thus making a pleasing combination. Mr Dilnot Wales will again entertain with several songs and a sextette for violins, ’cello and piano will be presented by Mr Larsen and party. The performance will commence at 8' p.m.
