RAILWAY LINE BLOCKED

SLIP IN MANAWATU GORGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. October 13. A second slip, which fell this morning after the 7 o’clock train from Palmerston North had passed on its way to Woodville, has blocked the railway line through the Manawatu Gorge. The slip has fallen in the same place as that which blocked the line on October 1. It is believed that the second slip is larger than the previous one. Several gangs of men were organised early today and worked strenuously to clear away the debris, but the line will not be ready for traffic for a few days. An emergency bus service is carrying passenger traffic between Palmerston North and Woodville.
