FURTHER DEEDS OF MURDER & BRIGANDAGE ASSASSINATION OF ARAB LEADER. BRITISH REINFORCEMENTS POURING IN. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, October 13. The Palestine disorders and outrages are not abating and the days and nights are passing anxiously. Arabs and Jews not knowing the hour at which the terrorists will strike, are perpetrating further acts of murder, arson and brigandage. The British United Press correspondent at Jerusalem reports that Hassan Sidky Dajany, an Arab Nationalist spokesman, and a leading lawyer, was abducted and shot dead at dawn yesterday south of the city. The murder has caused a sensation in Arab and Jew quarters, as he is the most prominent victim since the rebellion broke out.
Two fighting planes, responding to a wireless call yesterday, saved a police and military patrol which was beset by brigands on the Jerusalem-Hebron road. One plane was forced to land. Two constables were slightly wounded. British reinforcements are pouring into the rebellious areas near Haifa simultaneously with the arrival of 250 ex-servicemen- to join the Palestine police. HIGH COMMISSIONER RETURNING TO JERUSALEM. FOLLOWING ON DISCUSSIONS IN LONDON. (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) LONDON, October 13. Sir Horace Mac Michael has left by the flying-boat Coorong, for Alexandria, en route to Jerusalem. The Colonial Office states that Mr Malcolm MacDonald and Sir Horace Mac Michael also completed a thorough examination of the political situation in Palestine as a preliminary to the receipt of the commission’s report at the end of the month. The question of procedure and policy has been extensively examined. TRIAL OF REBELS. THREE ARABS SENTENCED TO DEATH. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) JERUSALEM, October 13. Three Arabs, whom Hassan Sidky Dajany was defending in the military court, have been sentenced to death.
