Miss A. Lawrence, who has been on a visit to Masterton, has returned to Hukanui. Mrs Algar Williams, of Featherston, who has been confined to her room for several days, is now convalescent. Miss Clark, of Palmerston North, is on -g visit to Pongaroa where she is the juest of Mrs P. Wiltshire. Mrs Elgar, Featherston, will return to New Zealand shortly. She left London s on the Rangitiki in September. Miss Mary McLaughlan, of Hutt Valley, who had been the guest of Mrs E. J. Eastwood, Victoria Street, Masterton, has returned home. Mrs C. L. Carr, of Pahiatua, has left to take up her residence at Ruatoria, north of Gisborne, where Mr Carr has accepted an important position. The well-known writer, Miss Nelle Scanlan, is on her way to Wellington, where she will begin a further novel. She will arrive in Sydney by the Ceramic about October 15, and will catch the next ship to New Zealand. Miss D. Bellingham, of Napier, is the guest of Mrs H. A. Bick, Pahiatua. Miss Bellingham has been appointed matron of the All Saints Ch^ r ®"® Home, Palmerston North, and will take up her duties next week.
