PLAN FOR RUTHENIA
AUTONOMY WITHIN CZECH STATE SETBACK FOR HUNGARY & POLAND. GERMANY OFFERS ADVICE. (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) PRAGUE, October 11. The formation of an autonomous Ruthenian Government within the Czech State is a setback to Polish and Hungarian plans to detach Ruthenia from Czechoslovakia and unite it with Hungary, which not unanimously supported by Ruthenian Hungarians and is also regarded without enthusiasm by Germany. The “Boersen Zeitung warns Poland and Hungary against a common frontier, pointing out that it would mark the inception of a policy similar to that which brought down Dr. Benes.
