The extension of the Christchurch Cathedral by adding to the chancel has been approved by the committee of representative citizens set up to consider erecting a memorial to Archbishop Julius. Various proposals were submitted to the committee, including a scholarship at Canterbury University College and a fund to help Christian missions overseas, but the cathedral project was unanimously approved.
