SHORT-SERVICE COMMISSIONS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, October 10. The Minister of Defence, the Hon F. Jones, announced today that the following candidates had been selected for short-service commissions in the Royal Air Force, and would sail for England on November 17:— G. K. Alexander (Auckland), B. E. Bell (Gisborne), P. G. Brodie (Wanganui), G. G. Crawford (Christchurch), V. G. W. Engstrom (Masterton), J. M. Gilmer (Wellington), D. J. Harkness (Christchurch), R. J. K. Hogg (Auckland), J. S. Humphreys (Wellington), L. C. Kingsbury (Christchurch), N. J. Mowat (Otira), A. C. Ollerenshaw (Auckland), L. T. J. Ryan (Palmerston North), D. B. Starky (Bay of Plenty), P. V. Stowell (Masterton), N. W. Walders (Morrinsville), A. G. Whitehead (Wellington), and C. R. Wylie (Masterton).
