GIRLS IN SHORTS
HOWLED DOWN IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 7. Show girls from the “Hollywood Hotel” revue/ which visited Auckland recently, were howled down by their own sex when they appeared at a charity festival in Martin Place today. The girls appeared in abbreviated shorts on the platforms and were immediately the centre of attraction. Cries of disapproval came from the women spectators. “You ought io be ashamed of yourselves.” “Go and put on some clothes.”
The girls a little later appeared in slacks and heavy topcoats, thus going to the other extreme. Government officers recently censored certain acts in the “Hollywood Hotel” revue, resulting a lively Press controversy.
