STERILITY IN STOCK

FURTHER RESEARCH URGED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, October 7. At a meeting of the council of the Romney Marsh Sheep Association, when discussing a further grant ot £lOO made by the association toward research into the question of sterility in sheep and cattle, the opinion was expressed that more should be done, as the question was of paramount importance not only from the breeders’ but from the national point of view. As a practical demonstration of their belie in this view several councillors present offered to contribute, apart from the donation made by the association, a ram or its value in cash. It was thought that others outside the council and other associations than the Romney association would also realise the necessity for this research and would contribute toward investigations now being conducted at Massey College. Much progress has already bee made by those in charge of the investigations, which have now been going on for a considerable tune. Ceitaii finite conclusions have been anived at and facts determined which already have been of much use to breeders.
