DIRECTOR FINED
BREACHES OF COMPANY ACT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 7. Fines totalling £l7 10s, together with substantial costs in respect of the Investment Registry of Dunedin, Ltd, of which he was a director, were imposed on George William Lawrence in the Magistrates’ Court today. Besides the charges against defendant, there were also a series of charges against the company, and on each one it was convicted. The only charges against Lawrence were that he failed to furnish an annual return in respect of the company for 1937, failed to hold a general meeting of the company, failed to place before the company an account of income and expenditure, and failed to notify a change of directors. The company was charged with failing to hold a general meeting, failing to furnish an annual return, failing to notify a change of directors, and failing to notify a change of. address. All the charges were admitted. There was no appearance of any members of the company.
