BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE
ELIMINATION FESTIVAL Mastertoil is fortunate in having been selected as the place for the North Island Elimination 'Festival of the British Drama League. The festival will open in the Opera House, next Monday at 8 p.m. and will conclude on Tuesday evening. The winning Wairarapa team, St Matthew’s Old Girls, will open the festival with the play by T. B. Morris entitled “White Queen —Red Queen.” Mrs E. J. Rich is the producer of this fine play. An unusual but striking play, “The Theatre of the Soul,” by Nicolai Everinof will follow. This will be presented by the Levin players under the direction of the Rev Dr lan Fraser. These players were awarded an “A” certificate for their presentation at Palmerston North a few weeks ago. The evening will conclude with “A girl from the Hill” by Marjorie Nugent, produced by Mrs Anne Lane and staged by the Wellington Pioneer Club. Seats for both nights may be reserved at the shop of Mr Vivian Joseph, Queen Street.
