THE REGENT
“STOLEN HEAVEN.” The fine comedy-drama, “Stolen Heaven,” will be screened finally tonight at the Regent Theatre. Olympe Bradna is starred with Gene Raymond and the plot combines the intrigue of international crime with bright comedy and a melodious background. Olympe Bradna is very fascinating in each phase of the film. “RAGE OF PARIS.” Danielle Darrieux, the French star now making pictures in Hollywood and acclaimed as a sensation, is worthy of the name. In her first Hollywood picture, showing on Saturday, she makes an appearance notable for acting skill. The plot of the story of “The Rage of Paris” is well calculated to bring out her talents and in a romantic comedy involving the adventures of a handsome advertising man and a rich playboy the entertainment is great. Douglas Fairbanks Jvnr., whose recent •work in films has shown him worthy of the name, is chief supporting star and he is most effective. And the supporting cast, including Louis Hayward, Mischa Auer, and Helen Broderick, is excellent. One reason for the excellence of the show is that the director, Henry Koster, is experienced in all kinds of film work. He directed Deanna Durbin in her first two screen hits, recommendation enough for anybody. Good shorts complete a programme which can be thoroughly recommended.
