“Apart from anyone’s political - beliefs, I think it will be agreed that the part Britain has been playing trying t'o preserve peace will go down in history,” said Mr W. A. Jenkins, president of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, in proposing that there should be conveyed to the proper quarters the centre’s affirmation of loyalty at the present time. He said that Great Britain’s Prime Minister had proved a worthy son of a worthy father. It was decided to convey a motion affirming the centre’s loyalty at the present time ti the proper authorities.
