TRADE AGREEMENT

CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES VIRTUAL COMPLETION ANNOUNCED SUBJECT TO PARTICPATION BY BRITAIN (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, October 5. Canada and the United States have practically reached a new trade agreement said Mr Mackenzie King (Prime Minister), after a cabinet meeting. He admitted that final conclusions had to await the Anglo-American Treaty, but it is expected that Mr Mackenzie King will go to Washington, to sign with Mr Cordell Hull (Secretary of State) after the completion of negotiations. CAUTION ADVISED STATEMENT IN WASHINGTON (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) WASHINGTON, October 5. A State Department spokesman advised caution in anticipating too soon the completion of the Anglo-American and Canadian-American trade pacts.
