NEGOTIATIONS IN ROME ANTICIPATION OF EARLY AGREEMENT. SPAIN AND ETHIOPIA. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 5. The British United Press Rome correspondent states that Lord Perth saw Count Ciano for the third time in three days. It is understood that they discussed: Firstly, the date of the Italian evacuation of Spain and whether advisers would withdraw with the infantry; secondly, the date of Britain’s recognition of the Italian empire in Ethiopia and thirdly, the time and method of operating the Anglo-Italian Treaty. It is believed that they were anxious to complete the negotiations in order’ to secure fhe approval of the Fascist Grand Council, which is meeting on Friday.
