ANTICIPATION OF IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT MR CHAMBERLAIN UNLIKELY TO VISIT ROME AMBASSADOR SEES COUNT CIANO By Telegraph —Press Association. Copyright. LONDON, October 4. Despite semi-official statements that the British Ambassador, Lord Perth, and the Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, during a meeting lasting an hour discussed only the organisation of international police in the minority areas of Czechoslovakia, the “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent declares that the discussions were unusually important. “It is not expected the result will be that Mr Chamberlain will think it desirable or necessary to visit Rome,” he added, “but it is believed that an important development is likely immediately in circumstances influencing Anglo-Italian relations.”
