THIN ELBOWS AND TIRED FEET. USE OF OLIVE OIL. Dandruff is always a nuisance. Not only does it shed itself on our shoulders, but if neglected it will cause the hair to fall, with the consequent result that we suffer from baldness. Have your chemist make you a lotion of olive oil, rosemary, and cantharides, and massage it Well into the scalp every night. Even the most stubborn cases of dandruff will respond to this treatment. • Thin elbows can be made beautifully soft and white and much rounder in appearance if you massage them every night with warm olive oil. Spend a few minutes working the oil into the skin. The easiest way to carry out this treatment is to pour a little of the oil into the cupped palm of the hand, then place the hand under the opposite elbow and rub the oil into the skin. And, as a final hint, there is nothing to compare with olive oil for relieving tired and aching feet. First bathe your feet in hot water, then warm'a little olive oil and massage it into the feet with a circular movement of the hands. Allow the oil to remain on the skin for about five minutes, so that as much as possible will be absorbed, then dry lightly with a soft towel, finally dusting with talc powder. Perhaps your fingers are not as slender as you desire. The knuckles may be enlarged and spreading. If this is the case, rub the enlarged joint every night with warm olive oil. If the skin is lined and coarse, soak a pad of absorbent cotton wool in the oil, bind it loosely around each finger, and allow it to remain on all night. And there is also your neck. Perhaps it is just a trifle too thin. If so, add a little milk to some warm olive oil and massage it well into the skin every night. At the same time carry out neck exercises. When salt-cellars are apparent they will very often respond to the following treatment. First sponge the neck with warm water and a good soap, the dab on a generous supply of olive oil. Massage this into the skin for a few minutes, and then remove by patting with a soft towel. Then, before going to bed, slightly warm some cocoa butter, apply it to the skin, and allow it to remain on all night. Cocoa butter is not expensive to buy, and can be procured from practically every chemist. If you live in a district where the water is hard, and it is difficult to obtain a lather with the soap, add a drop or tow of olive oil to the water and you will then find that not only will the water feel softer, but the soap will lather better, and the skin will not become rough and coarse.
