PERSONAL ITEMS
Mrs C. C. Jackson, Kopuaranga, is visiting Wellington. Miss Chamberlain, Cole Street, has returned from a short visit to Wellington. Miss Doreen Kennedy, Opaki Road, who has been visiting Nelson, has returned to Masterton. Mrs R. Black, of Christchurch, is the guest of her mother, Mrs J. Carpenter, Dixon Street, Masterton. Mrs I. Hart (Masterton), Miss M. Tocker (Featherston), Miss M. Thurston (Masterton), and Miss M. Palmer (Masterton) were weekend visitors to Mt Egmont, being present at the Alpine Club's annual “At home” and sports. On Monday ‘evening a 500 party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs G. Brown, Renall Street, Masterton. The hostess presented Mrs Liddall, the guest of the evening, with a useful, solid leather hat box as a parting gift from her friends. The prizes at cards were won by Mrs Strickland (ladies) and Mr Alf Brown (men). Supper was provided and a very pleasant evening concluded with the singing of “She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” and “Auld Lang Syne.”
