PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Miss Queenie Te Maari, who has been an inmate of the Greytown Hospital for the past two months, has sufficiently recovered to return home. Mrs K. Munro and her son, Mr F. Munro, Lower Hutt, were the . guests of Mrs G. Busch for a few days. Mrs G. Hume, Wellington, was a weekend visitor to the district. Mr G. Swan, Wellington, was the guest of his sister, Mrs Trevor Hume, for a few days. Miss E. Duffy, who has been staying with her parents, has returned to Masterton. Miss Dot Duffy has returned home after a fortnight’s stay with her brother at Mauriceville. Mrs Cowper was on a short visit to the district at the weekend. Shearing of Dry Sheep. The shearing of dry sheep has commenced in this district, but the main shearing will not be started until early in November. School Committee. A meeting of the School Committee was held on Monday evening, there being present Messrs Mclntosh (chairman), Duggan, Riwai, Carter and Sutton. Correspondence was received from the Education Board approving of the installation of a heater and' wash basin; also from a contractor quoting price for installing the same. The secretary was instructed to have the work done. The matter of the extension of and improvement to the basketball court was left over till next meeting of the board. It was decided to have certain improvements made to the drainage system. Accounts totalling £5 18s 8d were passed for payment.
