REBEL ATTACK ON JEWS IN TIBERIAS HOUSE TO HOUSE MASSACRE. MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN SLAUGHTERED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) HAIFA, October. 3. One hundred rebels attacked the Jewish quarters at Tiberias and perpetrated a house to house massacre, killing twenty-one Jews, including seven children. Four rebels were killed and many on both sides wounded in subsequent fighting. The rebels made a surprise attack, shot a Jewish watchman, slaughtered men, women and children, and set fire to a synagogue and Government buildings. ENVOY FROM IRAK. POSSIBLY SIGNIFICANT VISIT. The Australian Associated Press says the Irak Foreign Minister, Seyyid Tawfik Suwaid, is arriving today for a week’s stay as the guest of the Government and the outcome of his visit may have an important bearing on the Palestine upheaval, as Seyyid Suwaidi is considered to have great influence ’in the Middle East. A court sentenceu to death Jacob Kotek, of Tel Aviv, on a charge of carrying arms and ammunition. This is only the second time a Jew has been sentenced to death throughout the disturbances.
