ANGLERS HAPPY

GOOD SPORT ON OPENING OF SEASON. SOME LIMIT CATCHES SECURED. Anglers who tried local rivers for the opening of the fishing season enjoyed good sport, caskets of fine fish were secured from the Ruamahanga and one fisherman had among his catch a fish of about 51b. The Makakahi proved very popular and was heavily fished between Eketahuna and Pahiatua. ' Two or three limit bags (12 fish) were obtained from this stream. On the whole, local anglers appear to be well satisfied with the season’s prospects and are particularly pleased with the opening day’s sport. The. conditions as a whole were the best for many years past. The weather was perfect.
