LONDON QUOTATIONS BUTTER MARKET QUIET Little change was shown in the London butter market last week. According to the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board, Friday’s maximum quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: Salted, 116 s (115 s to 117 s; a year ago, 127 s to 128 s); unsalted, 118 (117 s to 118 s; a year ago, 128 s). Australian: Salted, 114 s (108 s to Ills); unsalted, 116 s (110 s to Ills). Argentine: Unsalted, 112 s (106 s to 107 s). Danish: 135 s to 136 s spot (135 s to 1365). Dutch: Unsalted, 112 s (110 s Estonian: Salted and unsalted, 112 s. Latvian: Salted and unsalted, 112 s. Lithuanian: Salted and unsalted, 112 s. Polish: Salted and unsalted, 110 s. Retail prices are unchanged, Danish at Is 4d and New Zealand at Is 3d a lb. Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week totalled 2456 tons. The quantity in store, including 867 tons ex Port Hardy, was 3849 tons, as against 4160 tons, a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter last week were 1553 tons, the quantity in store being 4183 tons, as against 1622 tens a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committees estimate of the stocks of all butter in store is 1,175,284 boxes, as against 594,918 boxes a year ago. The cheese market is steady. Friday’s maximum quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, are as follows: —

New Zealand: White, 72s (725; a year ago, 70s to 70s 6d); coloured, 72s (71s 6d to 725; a year ago, 69s to 69s 6d).. Australia: White and coloured, 69s to 70s (68s to 70s). Canadian: White and coloured, 72s (71s to 725); old season’s white and coloured, 80s (78s to 80s). English: Finest farmers’, 88s to 90s (86s to 90s); factory cheese, 68s to 69s (66s to 695). South Africa: Coloured, 69s to 70s; white, 71s to 725. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese from store last week totalled 21,783 crates. The quantity in store, including 1430 crates ex Rangitata, was 33,274 crates, as against 35,718 crates a year deliveries of Canadian cheese last week were 25,227 boxes, the quantity in store being 123,072 boxes, as against 139,013 boxes a year ago.
