WEDDING

WALL—MOODIE. The marriage took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon of Sheila Kathleen, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. B. Moodie, “Glentui.” Masterton, to Anthony Hunter Wall, eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Wall, Pukerua Bay, Wellington. Thc» church was most tastefully decorated with autumn lilies which were arranged on the chancel steps and tied to the ends of the pews.. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of silver embroidered brocade, cut on simple lines with low neckline, full sleeves and long circular train. She wore her mother’s veil caught to the head with, a small wreath of orange blossom. Her lovely shower bouquet was of sweet peas, cyclamen and freezias.

The three bridesmaids —the Misses Joyce Moodie (chief), Rosemary and Barbara Wall, wore frocks of forget-me-not chiffon cut on similar lines to the bride’s. They wore wreaths of sweet peas in their hair and carried bouquets of the same flowers in three shades of pink. Their long tri-coloured sashes were in the same tonings. The bridegroom was attended by Mr J. Benell as best man and the groomsmen were the Messrs R. Wall and D. Mildon.

After the ceremony the bride’s parents held a reception at the Ranfurly Club. Mrs Moodie received her guests wearing a handsome gown of black lace, picture hat and white fox furs. She carried a scarlet bouquet. Mrs Wall who assisted her wore a graceful gown of navy hand-embroidered crepe with hat to tone. She also carried a bouquet. Masses of spring blossom, tulips, sweet peas and camellias were arranged in the reception rooms. Mrs A. H. Wall travelled in a lightweight wool ensemble, tailored in deep air force blue. She wore an upturned hat and accessories to tone. Mr and Mrs Wall’s future home will be in Palmerston North.
