Mrs T. G. Jamieson, of Woodville, is visiting Auckland. A visitor to Christchurch is Mrs L. T. Herbert, of Pahiatua. Mrs T. E. Jones, of Napier, is the guest of Mrs E. Jones, Pahiatua. Mrs W. H. Saunders, of Essex Street, Masterton, was a weekend, visitor to Wellington. Miss A. Ninnes, of Masterton, who has been on a trip to England, will return this week. Mrs E. Vincent, Masterton Road, Pahiatua. .has as her guest Miss Joyce Henry, of Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Ralph Thomson, Karori, Wellington, were week-end visitors to Masterton, being the guests of Mr and Mrs H. McKenzie Douglas. ■ ... Mrs H. Paterson, of Pahiatua, has returned home after having been engaged in Women’s Institute business at Tauranga and elsewhere. Mr and Mrs T. H. Lowry, Okawa, Hastings, who have been visiting England and the Continent, returned to New Zealand by the Mariposa today. Mrs Halpin will represent Papatawa at a conference of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Federation of the Women’s Institute. Mrs A. E. Dickens, of Papatawa, is a member of the executive of the federation.

Mrs Dwyer, of Bulls, sister of the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, accompanied him on his visit to Eketahuna. A nephew and his wife, Mr and Mrs Dwyer, the former head master at Hastwells, also were of the party.

A very enjoyable function took place at the residence of Mrs Swanson, Miriam Street, Masterton, when Mrs J. Lidaall, who will leave for Hamilton on Wednesday, was the guest at a 500 afternoon, there being about twenty present. Regret was expressed at the pending departure of Mrs Liddall and warmest wishes were extended to her for her future happiness. The first prize in the 500 tournament was won by the guest herself. Among the visitors to Masterton durr ing the week-end for the Wall-Moodie wedding were Mr and Mrs R. Wall and the Misses Wall, Pukerua Bay; Mr and Mrs L.’Wall, Kairanga; Mr and Mrs H. Sladden, Wellington; Mr T. A. Moodie and Miss Moodie, Lower Hutt; Misses Mac Diarmid, Wellington; Mr and Mrs Jack Wall, Martinborough; Mr and Mrs J. Wall, Pukerua Bay; Mr and Mrs E. Brown, Kelburn; Mr and Mrs L. Goldfinch, Kelburn; Miss Frances Harty and Mr Denis Harty; Miss Ruth Dickson, Wellington; Mr and Mrs A. Birch, Eastbourne; Mr and Mrs Frank Clark, Palmerston North; Mr I. Saunders, Mrs and the Misses Laery, Wellington.
