PRICES FIRM AT WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Prices were generally firm at the sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow held yesterday by the Wellington brokers. Sheepskins: There was a fair inquiry for all grades and a good clearance was effected. Sound lots sold at prices fully firm on last sale’s quotations, with damaged lines slightly improved. Hides: These were also in demand, light, medium and heavy weights being l-8d to id per lb. higher, yearling and kip generally unchanged, and calfskins l-8d to 3-8 d per lb. higher. Tallow: A small offering, with prices slightly firmer. The range of prices is as follows: — Dry sheepskins: Halfbred, 6d to 7:;d; fine crossbred, 6Jd to 7|d; medium crossbred. s.‘d to 7','d; coarse crossbred, 5d to 7?'d; half-wools, 6d to 7d; quar-ter-wools, 3d to 7Jd; pelts, I’d to 3ld. Salted skins: Full-wools, 2s to 3s. Hides: Ox, 331 b. to 441 b„ 4 3-8 d to sd; 451 b. to 521 b„ 3 3-8 d to 5 3-8 d; 531 b. to 591 b., s|d to 6A-d; 601 b. to 691 b., sid to 6 3-8 d; 701 b. and over, 4|d to 6 3-8 d; cow, 331 b. to 391 b., 3d to sd; 401 b. to 481 b., 4d to sd; 491 b. and over, 3 5-8 d to s.'d;; kip, 251 b. to 321 b.
