SERIOUS CHARGE
PREFERRED AGAINST MARRIED WOMAN ACCUSED COLLAPSES IN COURT i (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ; WELLINGTON, This Day. I Bail was refused Marjorie Pickering,' 12, married, charged before Mr Stout,. S.M., with unlawfully using an instrument with intent to procure a mis-! carriage. i Detective-Sergeant Doyle, opposing bail, said the girl concerned was not; quite 20. He could remember only one ease in his experience where a Magistrate had granted bail. He gave an assurance that the police probably would be ready to proceed next Wednesday. The Magistrate said he would refuse bail meantime. The accused collapsed and had to be assisted from the dock.
