Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.42. Shade temperature: Maximum 65.1, minimum 44.7, terrestrial 31.2. Sunshine, 11 hours 15 min. Rain, 10 points. Solway: Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 7 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. General situation: A shallow depression moved rapidly across the Dominion last night and there has since been a sharp rise of pressure in the south; an anticyclone is still centred to the north while pressure is relatively low over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with southerlies predominating at first but tending to northerly tomorrow; weather cloudy to overcast, with some scattered light rain but gradually improving; temperatures moderate.
