ANOTHER CHALLENGE
4, MINISTER AND OPPOSITION LEADER HON P. FRASER AT LEVIN (By Telegraph —Press Association.) LEVIN, This Day. Yesterday afternoon the Minister ol Education, the Hon P. Fraser, in the presence of a large gathering laid the foundation stone of the new Horowhenua College. In the evening he addressed a large meeting of electors. He criticised the National Party policy, and contrasted the depression conditions with those since Labour came into power. Referring to his challeng to the Leader of the Opposition (the Hon A. Hamilton), not to reduce wages, pensions and salaries and social services, should another depression come, he was not sure if Mr Hamilton, in his broadcast last week, had given a complete answer. He would like to know if he included only those services. He challenged Mr Hamilton, should world prices for Dominion produce fall, to give an assurance that direction or indirectly, his party would prevent reductions in these services. What he asked Mr Hamilton the Labour Party would do without qualification by organising the State’s resources.
