WORM, Insects and Vermin will not attack skins at any time pnee they have been treated. “Allas S” is a preservative, and must not be confused with a tanning or semi-tanning agent. The preservative produces no tanning effect whatsoever, hence hides which have been so treated can subsequently be tanned or Sressed by the usual methods without any alteration of the tanning system used. This remark applies equally to vegetable, chrome, alum tanning, etc. Dried goods cured with this Preservative when green, and after storage for any period will, under any climatic conditions, work freely and similarly to fresh hides and skins through the fellmongering, depilating and tanning processes; and during hot weather with entire freedom from putrefactive action. It has been observed in a number of carefully made tests that hides which have been treated with ‘■Atlas S” SOAK BACK MORE READILY than ordinary flint dry or dry salted hides.
