LONDON’S SHIPPING

During the week ended August 26. 1083 vessels, representing 1.023.059 net register tons, used the Pert of London. Of these. 523 vessels (818.173 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 560 vessels (205,486 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic.

The arrivals included seven meat cargoes, viz., five from Australia, one from New Zealand and one from South

America, comprising 176,000 carcases of lamb and mutton, 72.000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits and sundries. Twenty-five timber laden vessels docked in the Surrey Commercial and India and Millwall Docks with 38 000 tons of softwood.
